Teal in Tallaght

January 10, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

Yesterday at lunchtime I took a quick trip to Sean Walsh Park in Tallaght to see a Caspian Gull found by Graham Prole – check out his ring-reading blog at Tallaght Gulls & Rings. Unfortunately, the gull didn’t show while I was there but Niall Hatch tipped me off on a drake Teal that was allowing very close approaches - normally this one of the shyer species of ducks. I was able to get in low and close with the low January sun behind me and I was pleased to get this shot with the 100-400mm lens at 400mm, ISO400, 1/400th of second at f8.
